Brookfield East crushes 4x4; Roberts 10:13.68!

 

State Meet Highlights - RESULTS

 

- Senior Aubrey Roberts of Eau Claire Memorial ran a US#5 10:13.68 3,200 in her solo effort to win the Division 1 race in a meet record.

- Ben Gucinski of Fox Valley Lutheran, a senior, won the Division 2 high jump in a meet record and US#6 clearance of 7-1.

- Josie Schaefer, the Baraboo junior, won the Division 1 discus with a US#9 162-0.

- Junior Tess Keyzers from Little Chute won the Division 2 shot put in a meet record and US#23 47-3. Katie Taylor, a Hayward senior, also bettered the old record with a mark of 46-3.5.

- Brookfield East broke the state record in the boys 4x400 relay, finishing in 3:15.87. They are the first team from Wisconsin to break 3:16.00. The lineup consisted of Mario Carr, Saxton Williams, Avery Barnes and Drew Bullen.

- Brookfield East also came out on top in a close boys 4x200 relay, taking the win in 1:26.95. Plymouth was second and Menomonee Falls was third, both finishing in 1:26.96.

- Three teams went under the meet record in the Division 1 girls 4x400 relay. Wausau West took the win in 3:50.75 with Arrowhead (3:51.84) and Hamilton (3:52.47) finishing second and third respectively.

- Finn Gessner, a senior from Madison La Follette, ran a 9:01.81 3,200 to win the Division 1 race.

- Freshman Brooke Jaworski from Wausau West, in addition to her 4x400 relay leg, tied the state record in the 400 with a 54.33 and won the 200 in 24.77.

- Cami Davre of Whitefish Bay won the 800 in 2:11.13 and 1,600 in 4:46.50. In the 800, she led six girls under 2:14.00.

 - Kylie Swiekatowski of De Pere broke the Division 1 meet record in the pole vault, clearing 12-7.

 

Top Teams:

Brookfield East won the Division 1 boys team title with 49 points. The Milwaukee King girls won their title with 44 points.
